Hello, my name is Alfred Horn and I have been living in Lynchburg, VA for the past 5 years. My family is originally from Waldorf, Maryland. I am a junior in high school and aspire to go to college and further my education. I am the uncle of six and a sibling of five. I like baseball, hunting, sleeping, and spending time in God’s creation. Being in nature provides comfort and peace that is rarely imitated elsewhere. It is a pleasure to be a part of this hike in remembrance of Jessica. She knew just like we do that God can change lives and do amazing things, and we can use this opportunity to glorify him. Beauty for Ashes is doing wonderful things and it is beautiful to see what it has done to the lives of those affiliated. We should always seize opportunities to demonstrate God’s grace to others. This hike is a good opportunity for all involved, as we will spend time in community and in God. I can’t wait to learn and grow on this hike in remembrance and reflection. God changed Jessica’s life just like it can change all of ours, so we partake in this journey in remembrance of this and of her.
