My name is Cindy Zello, and I live in Fredericksburg, Virginia with my soulmate husband
of 41years, Mike, my crazy dog, Kili and eleven chickens that I like a lot. I am the proud
mother of three amazing children and the mother-in-love to three equally amazing
children; my children married the BEST! I am also Mimi to Easton, Avett, Emma,
Walker, Nathaniel, Trek, Coleman, Paxton, Lincoln, and Weslynn! My family is my
greatest joy and my greatest encouragement on this side of heaven.
 
My connection to Beauty for Ashes began over 29 years ago while reading Isaiah 61,
during a difficult time in my life. God breathed a dream into every fiber of my soul
through this scripture, and Beauty for Ashes became my heartbeat.  Much transpired in
my life from that point forward, but the God-breathed dream became a God-sized reality
for mothers and their children when the home and property were dedicated and opened
its doors in October 2015.
 
I began hiking mountains to find healing and relief from the grief that literally "engulfed"
me after losing my Dad to a long battle with cancer. Through God's presence in the
tranquility of His creation and pushing myself through the challenges of conquering
mountains, I began a healing journey. This mountainous healing journey transcends into
every area of my life, and I try my best to "share" this with others; thus all the hikes I
plan…and the annual Moving Mountains Together Hike!
 
My inspiration for this hike, and every day for that matter, is my dream-breathing,
heavenly Father, my family, my beloved Dad, my selfless Mom, and the women and
children God entrusts to my care at the Beauty for Ashes Women and Children's Home.
