My name is Beulah Martin and I live in Northern Virginia with my husband and basketball loving teenage son! I love being active.  I enjoy long walks, peloton rides, and have run three half marathons, but never hiked a mountain.  SInce I love a great challenge, I said yes to hiking THIRTY MILES!!!  Oh my!

 

I was first introduced to Beauty for Ashes in 2017 through my church.  I fell in love with the way they bring hope to broken women and children through the restorative power of Christ!  To hear the stories of the lives that have been transformed does my heart well, and I want to do whatever I can to help impact more lives!

 

My inspiration for this hike is to see the impossible realized!  Since I have never scaled a mountain before this seems like an impossible feat, but I know that with proper training and trust in God and my leaders it will be DONE!  The same is true for the women that come into Beauty for Ashes.  It may feel to them that it is impossible to live a life free from substance abuse and be reconnected to their children.  However, with the love and support of the BFA staff, a new or renewed relationship with Christ, and the programs and training that BFA offers...IT IS POSSIBLE!!  So here's to me doing my part to help what seems to be an impossibility to become a REALITY for these women and children!
